What To Pack For Your Norway Elopement

Hey lovebirds!

So, you’ve decided to ditch the traditional wedding fuss, and now you’re packing for your Norway elopement. First off, kudos to you! Now, let’s make sure your special day is nothing short of epic. As your local elopement photographer and your virtual bestie, here’s a breakdown of all the essential things you need to pack for your Norway elopement:

Hiking Attire:

Norway is all about majestic fjords, rugged terrain, and unpredictable weather. But it’s not as wild as people might think. Polar bears don’t roam out woods, and all the trails are easily found on utt.no But we have a saying – there is no bad weather – only bad clothing, so it is essential to prepare for it all.

  • Hiking Boots: Trusty, comfortable, and waterproof. You’re going to thank me later for this one.
  • Weather-Resistant Outerwear: Think layers, layers, layers. A waterproof/windproof jacket and thermal layers will keep you cozy no matter what Mother Nature throws your way.
  • Hats and Sunglasses: Shield yourselves from the elements, and you’ll still look effortlessly cool.
  • Wool Socks & bring extras
  • Comfortable backpack with essentials: like headlamps, food&snacks, water bottles, tissues, and bandaids

Wedding Attire:

Now, onto the fun part – saying “I do” in style against Norway’s jaw-dropping backdrop:

Book your photographer

  • Wedding Gown & Suit: Opt for something lightweight and easy to move in. You’re adventurers, not mannequins.
  • Comfortable Shoes: if boots aren’t your thing, though, don’t worry. You can always pack some fancy shoes for the photos

Things for the Ceremony:

Keep the ceremony sweet and intimate with these must-haves:

  • Vows: Pour your hearts into personalized vows. Trust me; it’s worth the effort.
  • Rings: Symbolize your commitment with the perfect bands.
  • Letters from friends & family: if you are eloping by yourselves, this is the perfect way to include them.

What to Buy Locally:

Reduce your luggage load & put these on your local shopping list:

  • Flowers & Cake: Most local vendors are on Instagram, & if you need some suggestions, happy to help.
  • Champaign: This one you can pick up in Vinmonopolet, but keep in mind, that they have short opening hours, and they are closed on Sundays.
  • Local Snacks: Stock up on some delicious Norwegian treats and sandwiches so we can keep the sugar levels & spirits up.

Things you can ask your photographer to bring:

I know your flying in from far away, so here are the things I can bring for your elopement day

* but just remember to inquire about them beforehand.

  • Speaker: but remember to create a playlist with your favorite tunes & make sure to include “your song.”
  • Blankets or Rugs: I have something to cozy up the space for your ceremony or picnic, but if you have special requests, I am happy to run through the local Ikea for you.

& what’s in the Photographer’s Bag:

As your photographer and partner-in-crime, here’s what I’ll bring:

  • First aid kit: Just in case
  • Local Knowledge: I’ll scout the best spots and know the ins and outs of the area.
  • Professional Camera Gear: 2 cameras, some flashes, and more boring stuff so I can create something amazing for you.

So there you have it, my adventurous friends! Pack smart, laugh often, and get ready for the most magical day of your life.

Cheers to love, laughter, and Norwegian adventures!
