Wedding at Kongsberg Kirke & Søstrene Storaas

A year ago Hege Pernille & Jørgen found me on Instagram, and here I am now, exactly a year later, telling their beautiful wedding story.

Ceremony at Kongsberg Kirke

My day started at the Kongsberg Kirke – the most beautiful church I have seen in all of Norway & I mean it. I have been to tons of red brick churches, and some new build churches, but Kongsberg Kirke just took my breath away. And then my bride came true the doors and everyone including me started tearing up.

After the ceremony, and the confetti throwing, we let everyone go to have some fun just around the church. My couple rented a gorgeous 1960 Rolls Royce from Norges Klenodier so we had to take it to the streets and pour some expensive champagne over it.

And since the destination for the evening was Storaas & we wanted some water and some woods for the portraits, we settled on Buvannet.

Garden party & dinner at Søstrene Storaas

When one is looking for a venue close to Kongsberg, Søstrene Storaas has you covered. They have everything from small cabins to cozy living rooms, to bohemian Barns.

But my favorite part was the garden party or call it whatever you want. Everyone enjoyed the time, drank lots of beer, ate sandwiches, and laughed from theyr hearts.

When planning, I like to suggest shorter portraits so you can spend time with your favorite people before dinner. Yes, portraits are important but don’t leave your guests hanging for over 1 hour. Instead, plan short portrait sessions throughout the day, so you don’t get missed and can enjoy the time with your peeps.

But before we go in for the dinner, I can do the group photos which takes me somewhere from 10-20 min. It’s the perfect time. Everyone is relaxed and has had some bubbly, & the photos look real and definitely not like your school pictures.

As I already said, Søstrene Storaas has multiple different options for all sizes of events but my client chose Storsalen, which can seat up to 200 people.
